Miriam Isserow Memorial Grant for Violence Against Women

by APF Staff on March 16, 2023

In April of 2022, newly appointed APF CEO Miriam Isserow z”l died suddenly following injuries from a kitchen fire. In her years at APF Miriam accomplished much, including pointing the Foundation in new directions by implementing several grants related to the study of COVID-19 that were turned around in a mere six weeks. Miriam also raised the funds for the EnVision Racial Equity project – a limited series of APF Visionary Grants to study the effects of racism in this country.

One of Miriam’s passions and a hallmark of her career of advocacy was the prevention of violence against women. In honor of this important work and Miriam’s dedication, the APF Board of Trustees has designated one of the 2023 Visionary Grants as the Miriam Isserow Memorial Grant for Violence Against Women. This grant is made possible by generous donations from those whose lives were impacted by Miriam and her dedication to the prevention of violence, stigma, racism, and more.
