National Register Internship Travel Scholarships
The National Register Internship Travel Scholarships provide financial support to students enrolled in psychology doctoral programs to help them physically relocate from the location of their graduate program to their selected predoctoral internship site.
The National Register Internship Travel Scholarships provide financial support to students enrolled in psychology doctoral programs to help them physically relocate from the location of their graduate program to their selected predoctoral internship site.
This program is sponsored by the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
Applications will be open as of 9:00am Eastern Time on February 16, 2024.
Please note that this program is highly competitive. A limited number of scholarships are available. APF will accept a maximum of 600 applications, after which the application portal will be closed.
Eligibility
APF encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds with respect to age, race, color, religion, creed, nationality, ability, sexual orientation, gender, and geography.
Applicants must:
- be graduate students currently enrolled in good standing in a doctoral program that is accredited by the American Psychological Association’s Commission on Accreditation (COA) or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA)
- be members of the National Register’s Associate Program (free to join)
- have been placed in the same year in which they apply for the scholarship into a predoctoral internship that is accredited by the APA or CPA
- physically relocate to the internship site

Application Materials:
- CV
- cover letter (includes a statement of need, explanation of career direction and explanation of interest in a health service psychology career)
- attestation that applicant is a member of the National Register’s Associate Program
- attestation that applicant will be physically relocating for their internship
- applicants must agree to having their application and contact information shared with National Register
Evaluation Criteria
Applications will be evaluated on:
- merit of applicant
- quality of cover letter
- criticality of funding
